YARO AND PERSONAL GROWTH – Welcome to Woo-Woo

Yaro YARO AND PERSONAL GROWTH Welcome to Woo Woo

Well, we saw it coming.  Changes to our favorite hippy tech expert  on the Internet. Yaro Starak.  He is tipping his toe into personal growth.

First, his post a few years ago – a hint.  It was called The Key to Happiness. But just a glimmer.

Then other little things.  The new house, car, the trip around the world , THE SURPRISE HAIRCUT.  He is changing.

Please enjoy his latest post -

LOVE, CHANGE AND THE REASON FOR YOUR EXISTENCE.

Yaro was inspired by Neale Donald Walsh and his book, Conversations with God.

IS YARO BECOMING A PERSONAL GROWTH BLOGGER IN ADDITION TO ALL HIS OTHER VENTURES?

Hope  so. We need some help.  And every good thought can contribute to the planet.

I admire what he is doing. Because Yaro has such a huge readership, he  could help in changing the world.  People are listening.

I know Neale Donald Walsch.  Interviewed him on TV on several of the Conversations with God book series.

The first question I asked him –

“There are thousands of priest, ministers, rabbis, monks and nuns would die for a Conversation with God.

WHY YOU?  An out of work derelict?”

He answered.

“GOD IS TALKING TO ALL OF US ALL THE TIME.  NOBODY LISTENS.”

Yaro was probably been listening from the very beginning.

But this is the first time he has put a LABEL on it.

He published BLOG PROFITS BLUEPRINT.   An encyclopedia of knowledge.  For free.  It was my Bible.  I devoured every page before I started blogging.

It inspired me to sign up for the BLOG MASTERMIND course. (You can get the “Blog Profits Blueprint” free by clicking there)

Best money I ever spent.  And the best advice.  Among other things,  Yaro said if you are a writer, write.  Don’t try to be a tech.  Hire it out.  It is cheap enough.

I did and still do.

There are scores of courses being offered on how to get a guest post on a big bloggers page.  How to make friends by intelligent comments etc. etc. Blah Blah Blah

I sent him a guest post when I was blogging two weeks.  What did I know?  I had no idea of the rules.

HE POSTED IT.  It gave me a flying start.

Yaro claims he learned a lot from Neale’s books.  He learned about LOVE.

I think it reminded him of what he already knew.  Give it away.  It will come back to you.  That was his secret before The Secret.

One thing worries me about his new series.  A little warning.

PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF GOD.

The Orthodox Jews don’t even spell  his name.  The write it G-D.

People feel if they don’t acknowledge that Infinite Intelligence, IT won’t remember they are around and will forget to punish them for all their sins.

A man approached me on Michigan Avenue.  I was on TV every weekday interviewing personal growth authors.  They always get around to mentioning that GOD word sometime in the interview.

He said, “Your show is great.  I would watch it every day if they stopped talking about God.”

My advice, Yaro -

Give Him or Her a different name.  Call the force Infinite Intelligence, All That Is. A Higher Power. The Force  – anything but that word.

When I was facilitating A Course in Miracles at Cook County Jail, an inmate who was in for some terrible crime told me.

“God is mad at me.  I cannot approach Him.  Now I ask the ceiling in the jail for help.  And the ceiling helps me.”

Try not to turn them off.

Neale won’t care. (No, you cannot change the name of his books)  He just wants his message out.  However you do it.

I want to close with one of my favorite quotes from Neale.   I have had it taped on my computer for years. It sums up all of his books in one sentence.

WHAT WOULD LOVE DO NOW?

Hey, you big bloggers out there. Throw a little personal growth into your mix.

We all need some inspiration out here.

Will you?

A lot of internet marketers seem to find God during their journey. I thinks it’s the gratitude from their success. And it benefits the whole Universe.

I too, loved Conversations with God. My husband asked, how do you know he is speaking the truth? I told him I could feel the truth in my body.

Yay for Yaro and yay for all the people he affects.

Hi Debbie -

I felt the same way when I read Neale’s first book. No one realized it would be such a huge seller. Many months on the NY Times best seller list.

The tendency of many is not to reward the really important big bloggers. They feel they don’t need it.

I disagree. They have tremendous influence and if they use it like Yaro, they should be recognized.

He is one of the good guy big bloggers.

Corinne, as you know I also interviewed Neale Donald Walsh, (click on link above for shameless promotion) and I’m thrilled that Yaro has found him….I’m also a Yaro fan and although I haven’t talked with Yaro for a couple of years, I agree – he’s growing up, moving onward, growing.

Dear Michelle -

Shameless promotion permitted by family members here.

It was a great interview.

I found his book interesting and very challenging.

But so is he.

I know you share many people’s respect for Yaro.

Dear Corinne,

I have you to thank for the introduction to Yaro and his world, several years ago when I googled you and got your post on him. His sweet nature is evident not only in his website but in his voice and how he answers and encourages his readers. Though him I found that I wasn’t a blogger, which was good to know.

I am a big fan of Yaro’s and also his friend Gideon Shalwick. Between them, they have all of the information anyone could need to be successful in blogging. They radiate a pure heart, both of them and I trust what they say.

I love that you have edified Yaro in this post. Your voice harmonizes with his and it makes sweet music to me. Thank you for that and many other things as well.

Your big fan,
Sharon

Hi Sharon -

Yaro would probably tell you that you are a blogger.

You just got off on the wrong topic.

I am waiting for you to start over on the pleasures of life. Things you are passionate about – like great movies, on which you are an expert-

And cooking – and especially baking.

You have sent me some samples. Extraordinary!

When you come back to blogging – go there!

Waiting on you.

I think Yaro’s stuff on blogging is great. I don’t think anyone has improved on his free report – and it’s been out there for years now.

His personal growth stuff I have problems with. If the physical is not real then why bother changing the world – it’s not real. This is a problem I have with this kind of metaphysics in general, not just Yaro.

Dear Evan -

You have hit on one of the great metaphysical mysteries.

“If the physical is not real then why bother changing the world – it’s not real. ”

The world being just an illusion is also one of the principles if A Course in Miracles. I have studied it for many years.

It feels very real to us.

The only way I can get to a place of understanding it is to think of myself as being in a movie. As long as I am member of the cast, I owe it to myself to play the part to the best of my ability.

I keep going for an Oscar.

At some level, I “get” it and then it slips away. It could be that the thought is beyond our 3rd dimension understanding.

Yaro’s Ebook on blogging is part of his movie. A cast of thousands have read it and benefited from it.

As you say, Yaro and Gideon’s work come from pure hearts.

What more can we do in this crazy world?

Hi Corinne, I think we can try to find what is the case with regard to the exterior (sincerity doesn’t guarantee truth unfortunately).

I think the idea that the world is illusory is poorly put. I think it is based on the discovery that what we do makes a difference, that our perception (which feels immediate) shapes our experience. I think discovering this (usually) leads to an elation that we want to hang on to – understandably, it is quite a high. (I note in passing people can be quite attached to non-attachment.) Understanding these things allows us to keep the agency we have and not think that the world is an illusion (with all the problems that this brings).

Evan, you are quite a philosopher.

This statement is so true and very funny.

“(I note in passing people can be quite attached to non-attachment.) ”

Seeing a wonderful new side of you.

My first blog was / is a self-development type blog. I them moved into blogging about blogging!

Over the past 18 months or so, the subjects of self-development and blogging are becoming closer. To be successful at blogging you need guidance on self-development.

Dear Andrew -

I enjoy that you have a real mix on your blog -

Even to the point that you are giving away your slightly used books and paying the postage!

You cannot help yourself from development if you are a blogger. It just happens. Writing so often has to plumb the inner self or it is not real to the reader.

It is a discovery of who you are. Not only for your readers but yourself.

When I go back three years, I can see a difference in my writing. It’s looser. More informal now.

You say people are afraid of God. When you don’t understand something that is when the fear comes in. This is the reason for fearing God. God is like a parent is to children when they are small. they would do anything to protect them, but at the same time a good parent knows they have to let go some and let them learn on there own. The parent just tries to guide them. This is what God does. But when we fall down he is there to pick us up just like a parent is to a child when he or she falls down.
Great job Corinne

He said, “Your show is great. I would watch it every day if they stopped talking about God.”

I know this isn’t the central point of your post, but it struck such a chord that I couldn’t help commenting.

I recently came to the USA from the UK. As you can imagine there are many differences between the two countries, though I have been surprised at just how many. I think God is the biggest difference, and that line ‘I’d watch if you stopped talking about God’ sounds very British to me.
There seems to be an assumption in the USA that God is a part of everyone’s life. My view is that every life has a spiritual aspect whatever the view of the subject, and to ignore the spiritual aspect of your life is wrong. But, the web IS worldwide and God (as such) is not regarded in the same way in other countries. In my own, organized religion (not the same thing as God I know) has been responsible for many violent divisions in society. We could say that God does not have a good name in the UK.

So I would have to agree with you – just the use of the word God will sadly turn off a great many readers. I loved your description of the inmate and the ceiling; the important thing is that the good stuff gets out and there and is read. So in this case, what’s in a name? God is more than a word. ‘ That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet’

Dear Lesley -

This is a profound comment.

I think we forget that the Internet is international. I know I have readers from all over the world. And as you say,

“God (as such) is not regarded in the same way in other countries. In my own, organized religion (not the same thing as God I know) has been responsible for many violent divisions in society. We could say that God does not have a good name in the UK.”

I just stumbled on that information from my own experience and never really applied it to the world. But it turned out to be good advice anyway.

We met on Twitter. You said read mine and I’ll read yours. It was funny. So I did and you did.

Your blog is exceptional. I just subscribed. You?

I am looking forward to keeping in touch with you.

You are welcome, Yaro.

Well deserved.

Hope you take a few minutes to read the comments here. Very interesting.

I was particularly impressed by Lesley. All the comments are good but she really shed a different light on God as an international issue.

Wondering what it is like in Australia.

Corinne,
As you know I have worked in medicine for many years. I have seen the results of good and evil behaviors.
I have to believe that each of us is god and the devil combined. That through the exercise of our “agency” our free will, we can be good, evil or more often a combination. A fellow named Les Giblin in his book Skill with People wrote “Everyone is more interested in themselves than they are in You” Maslow identified that in his hierarchy.
We can choose to do more good than evil, to be peaceful and not violent.
I tend to believe that man can overcome his violent, selfish nature by choices. I believe you reap what you sow – words and actions. Fortunately it isn’t automatic, so we have time to plant more good stuff and that all we receive wasn’t “planted” by us so we can’t take full credit for all the good that happens to us (or all the bad either).
It all seems to be connected to attitude and acting on that attitude consistently. It is nice that we don’t have to be perfect.
I remember the poem that goes something like
MY WAGE

I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store;

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have paid.

Dear Bruce -

I think it was Margaret Mead who said everyone is capable of being a Holocaust victimizer. How scary is that?

I like this -

“Everyone is more interested in themselves than they are in You” Maslow identified that in his hierarchy.”

In the same vein -

Heard someone say that everyone listens to one radio station.
WIFM

(What’s in it for me)

Thanks for the poem. All true.

So interesting how many sides you show here in your comments.

A fascinating person.
