Corinne,

It's non-fiction on my get-out-of-debt journey. That's part of the reason it's so jumbled. It is presently following me somewhat and I'm pretty jumbled.

Hi Sherri -

Sounds like you are right on track - all mixed up!

It will finally all fall together. Just keep at it. Don't worry where things are at this time. You might change it all at the end.

You sound like me - a perfectionist - who wants it done the right way the right time.

But a book is like a separate person. It goes its own way and has its own mind.

Keep in touch. Can't wait to hear about it.

What's the book about? Is it a novel or non fiction?

Corinne,

I find myself in several different parts of my draft during one writing session. I get stuck on something to say in one chapter and go to another that I do have something to say. Right now, my book is a bunch of jumbled sections, loosely related to the chapter headings. But I add to it, I don't edit. I may move things around if I find a better place for it while I'm working on a section.

I've thought about separating chapters into different computer files and working on them as separate documents until each is what I feel is finished. Then I would put them together. That would be more a storyboard approach and would make me focus on each topic (chapter). I could then use my outline to piece the chapters together and add to them to make them flow after I got them in a good enough order.

I've never heard of a book doctor. It sounds like a wise choice if you want to get the most out of your work.

Any you're right. If you want to write a book, write! When you're done for the day, stop. Start again tomorrow and write some more.
