I get Copyblogger myself and I simply love what they put out there – I think recycling old posts and making them new is a great idea – I look at my posts when I first started 2 years ago and I say – “who was that?” Content is good but the writing style has changed.
I find that by talking to “real” live people they give you some great stuff to write about. Sometimes my mind gets triggered by something someone says.
Fortunately, I don’t have this problem. I just sit down and write and stuff comes up. I use to get copyblogger updates in my inbox but recently unsubscribed from everything and everybody I felt was telling me how to do something. I do recommend them often, though. It just isn’t what I need. I try to stay connected to the people who inspire me instead. I like what they have done here with the graphics. Very cool.
Thanks for providing this simple solution to my problem. Sharing us this kind of information and knowledge is a big help. I will definitely follow all the tips that you have mentioned here. And i will surely recommend this to all of my friends. isabella057 recently posted..Coffee for Less Coupon Codes
Hi Corinne, love the infographic, they seem to be very popular at the moment. I think using ‘name recognition’ as stated in the infographic is an interesting way to come up with new content, mashing two unrelated subjects into one post can lead to an interesting post with a wider than usual appeal. Wonderful depiction of ideas! One more idea I would like to add here is that whenever writers are in dearth of ideas or what to write better is to see images and then excellent content comes out naturally. That is what I usually do. Cammile Mailhot recently posted..Home trainer Tacx

Great ideas indeed! I think connection with the audience and co-writers is important. They are reliable source of ideas of what to write and be able to know what the market would like to know. Exploring a bit is also applicable. Think outside the box, go read and talk to people. I tend to go on my community to seeks advises and it never fails to support me.

It’s such an entertaining article. I feel like I’m viewing a comic strip and also like the content. It’s a big help for me to improve my knowledge in writing blogs because I’m having a hard time doing it just like the scenarios that you mentioned. I think the girl image in the Celebrities section is Lady Gaga, well it’s also nice to write blog about her because she’s unique. Moving on, I got the main concept of writing after I read this and it’s about “life”. There also imaginative stories exist but I’m more on the realistic side not on the imaginative side.
Hi Corinne,
Nice comprehensive list. I use many of the above with the common denominator being stimulating alone time. It’s hard to predict where the next idea that resonates is going to come from, but I take a 3 -4 mile walk/run every day and I read every evening for an hour or more. Those provide with most of my fodder for thought.
Excellent site, keep up the good work my colleagues would love this. I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks
Yes, there are a lot of resources to have in writing articles. Your Infographic is cute, I like to read and view infographics, and it’s enjoyable. I agree there are times that you feel blank and there’s no idea in your mind that you can’t write anything at all.
I am a new visitor to your site. Today I have got a new site to read and gather more knowledgeable information. I am really happy to be here. I am stay tuned here for your next blog…
This is great, thanks for sharing. I do find it hard to plan ahead with my content schedule. There are some great reminders here about how to make it easier. I often use mind-mapping as a way of getting thoughts to the surface….seems to work for me anyway! Matt Clarke recently posted..Funny Quotes About Work
Nicely explained. It’s indeed an art to stop new visitors with your attractive writing style. Truly impressive and nice information. Thanks for sharing.
People like to call this “thinking outside of the box,” which is the wrong way to look at it. Just like Neo needed to understand that “there is no spoon” in the film The Matrix, you need to realize “there is no box” to step outside of.
You create your own imaginary boxes simply by living life and accepting certain things as “real” when they are just as illusory as the beliefs of a paranoid delusional. The difference is, enough people agree that certain man-made concepts are “real,” so you’re viewed as “normal.” This is good for society overall, but it’s that sort of unquestioning consensus that inhibits your natural creative abilities.
So, rather than looking for ways to inspire creativity, you should just realize the truth. You’re already capable of creative thinking at all times, but you have to strip away the imaginary mental blocks (or boxes) that you’ve picked up along the way to wherever you are today.
