Dear Carlon -

Your post today, How to Blow Someone Off Like Steve Jobs, saved me a year in therapy. Why do we always have to do the "right and kind thing" when someone is a pest?

The guilt is gone. Also two people.

Love to hear the story about your speaking Korean. That must be a great one.

Glad you liked the article.

Excellent post.
Sometimes you just don't realize all the things you learned.

I did some bookkeeping at my job in college.

When I started my translation business back in the day, that came in real real handy...especially for dealing with banks and the tax man.

And that was just one skill!

It;'s amazing all the things you pick up without realizing it--transferable skills is right.

Before I started my company, I made a list of all the things that I thought I was good at. When I was done, a friend of mine looked at it and said, "Hey, don't you speak Korean? Why isn't that on your list"

Funny how it slipped my mind even though it happens to be one of my biggest assets that still pays me huge dividends in business and in life.

Corrine: This a a fabulous blog. Should have a wider circulation than the Web. Send it to the New York Times. I'll give you better than an even odds it would be published. The wisdom of your observations and suggestions is glorious.

Haven't forgotten you Corrine. But I have made some big changes in my life. I no longer live at Lake Point Tower, but have moved to the Breakers on North Lake Shore Drive. It was a difficult move. My living space is much smaller and had to eliminate much furniture and stuff. I am in good health and look forward to taking you to lunch one day soon. Let's stay in touch! God Bless! Reed

Dear Joyce -
It really inspired me when I get a comment like yours on an article I wrote over a year ago.

We are really all connected in this world and I am glad to meet one of my connections in you.

We all go through difficult times. No one is exempt.

This time will pass for you. Please continue on the path on MAKING YOURSELF YOUR GREATEST PRIORITY.

That is the key. Remind yourself every single morning as you awaken. Ask the question.

What do I want that is best for me today?

Baby steps. Don't rush.

You can do it. One day at a time.

With unemployment going up and ever increasing, this will no doubt help a lot of people with jobs, especially now because everyone knows they are at risk of getting laid off.

To start in a new direction in these uncertain times is absolutely crazy.

My conservative brother says, I wouldn't do that! My sister hunkers down, doing more of the same-ol' that didn't work the first time. But I am crossing my fingers, closing my eyes and making the leap of faith.

I've been reading Duane Elgin's Voluntary Simplicity and he has a great quote by Gandhi: Don't define living as just 'not dying.' You exemplify that so well in this post. G.

Dear Karadeniz -

"What else do you want to be when you grow up?
It’s not an easy question"

What did you want to be when you were ten? There are clues in our childish dreams!

Dear Stephen -

I have such confidence in your power of intuition. You will know exactly what to do and when. You always do.

I think there is a great market out there for raw food people like you.

(Not for me. But i will pass your blog around!)

Dear Jo Ann -

Thought I'd remind you of one of my favorite quotes from ACIM.

"There are many answers you have been given that you have not yet heard.

Believe me, they are waiting for you."

You are not stuck. You are in between!
