THE HAPPIEST OF YEARS!

by Corinne

The happiest of years to you,

much better than the last.

A year your soul will find a home

beside a quiet hearth.

I hope the waterfall of life becomes a gentle rain,

to cleanse your wounds,

dim your scars

and wash away your pain.

May secret dreams

come true enough

to satisfy your heart,

but, if you stumble,

someone’s there

to hold you in the dark.

I wish you time for laughing,

for books and songs to sing,

breezy nights to sleep in

and the peace good health can bring.

But most of all,

I wish you love -

to have,

to give,

to share.

In short,

I wish you everything.

The happiest of years!

All the blogs (usually saying the same old dried out stuff) cannot come close to sending a message like you do in your so simple and sincere poems … let’s have more of that rather than how to keep looking for the next right thing to do …..
sometimes enough is enough …. can you please share the poem you wrote some time back titled “New Love” – perfect for the new year …. How can you possibly beat something that starts out “I want to love you newborn” …. they can’t. Happy New Year my dear friend. We need more poets and less prose.
