Searching.
Searching,
for the one,
to complete
the puzzle,
the missing part.
Looking,
Frantic
for the key
to turn ignitions,
make life start.
Standing.
Waiting,
at the curb.
Joy is traffic,
honking past.
Ignoring
autumn,
snow on trees,
an early spring,
the seasons pass.
Brass rings
clumped
above our heads.
Hearts shiver
in the shade.
Music thunders
from the past,
aching
to be heard.
Books lay open,
yawn unread.
Fires go unlit.
Wanting.
Longing,
for the wedge,
to make
the pieces fit.
Hurtling,
blinded
by the sun,
searching
for
the
one.
