RECESSION AND SMALL BUSINESS – Guest review by Lily Rose

red-rose

“I think that maybe inside any business, there is someone slowly going crazy.”

Joseph Heller, Something Happened

I just finished reading Sales, Lies and Naked Truths.

You should make the investment and buy the E-Book.  It is under $10.00.

I’ve been in sales for 28 years and I am scared.

I own a small business in a big city and once again- I’m doing it again.  Not my first time. I thought the aftermath of 9/11 was bad.

I have been through so many recessions that I could have written this book – but Corinne did. She’s been through more than me and still survived.

So how are we going to survive this one?  What tools will we use when we stare at the phone and say -

I just don’t have another damn call in me!

Well, we better make it and another million if we have to!

We’ve done it before… Starting over starting over.

I have a sales method that I have used for 28 years – clear my desk of everything except my call list, my script,  my ever- loving yellow legal pad and  - don’t laugh guys – I must have my script in plastic – it’s my “blankie.”

Now I add a glass of water,  a red rose and I have to wear fresh red lipstick.

I’ve never shared this before but it works. Maybe it’s my own personal magic.

I have a new Blankie.  It is Corinne’s book.

A no BS –  JUST DO IT approach. There is no time to read all the filler in most sales books.

Every short chapter is a blockbuster.

Now that I have read the whole thing, I pick up her book, let it flip to some page and follow that particular advice. Simple as that.

But you have to forget the past and pretend you are starting a new business.  Because you are.  This is a brand new game out here.

As she says in her Introduction.

“This ain’t your Daddy’s sales manual.”

Corinne Edwards has been my business coach for four years – and my media coach for speaking gigs. She has already shared everything with me.  She is the best coach in town.

Her book is a reminder of what she has already taught me.  We tend to forget.

I have been an award winning salesperson but I still need the help. I need more help now than ever before.

What is working in our favor is that most people have given up .

So what? More for you and me.

Buy the book and tell your friends about it … never mind all the sales gurus pushing their seminars and products for big money – spend the $9.95 and get the best coach in town.

If you’re a man in sales, maybe the red rose and red lipstick won’t work for you  -

(or maybe they will)

Sales, Lies and Naked Truths may be your answer.

Come back here and let me know after you’ve read it.

The red rose and red lipstick works for me.

That’s my gimmick.  What’s yours?  I want to know.

Thank you for this post! It is easy to get discouraged in today’s economy. You have pointed out some keys that really help me: don’t give up, and there are opportunities today because some people have given up. “Sales, Lies and Naked Truths” sounds like a very valuable resource!

Thanks for coming over to visit, Chris -

I think Lily Rose wrote a real and so honest article on what small business is going through.

I liked her thought that it is a good time to go out and get “em because the field is open. So many are not even trying.

Hope you will find time to read my book. Would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Don’t be a stranger. Come back to see us.

I just finished reading Sales, Lies and Naked Truth. This book’s value is not exclusive to only those whose attention would be grabbed by the title.

It’s message is timely for anyone with a dream to be more, become more, or just needs someone to hand them a compass which points them in the right direction.

I thoroughly, enjoyed your book Corinne .. and plan to read it and reference it again and again for inspiration and a little cheerleading.

Common sense is highly, under-rated as a highly desirable quality.

Thanks so much for your encouraging feedback.

I also posted your comment under the book promo.

Glad you liked it. It came from my heart.

I could tell it came from the heart. That is something that is
almost impossible to produce artificially.

I found your book through a friend’s blog and considering what he
wrote .. I decided I should buy it and read it.

I was so impressed I’ve decided to recommend it to those who visit my website as well. They can definitely use some brightening words of encouragement to find and pursue the dreams we all dream, but so rarely act upon.

All the best
