After being laid off several months ago, I have struggled to find a solid direction to go in. Corporate life is not what it use to b. No one rewards loyalty or hard work anymore. This article provides so much insight and many great ideas that I can now use to write the next chapter in my life. Thank you again for sharing your wisdom with us all. The amazing thing is that I had dinner tonight with an old friend that I haven't seen in a few years. I was telling her about you because I was living up in Seattle and managing her "at home office" while she was out on the speaking circuit. She invented a process called "Staging" when she was a new REALTOR back in the early 70's and taught it all over the country for many years. Anyway, I have very fond memories of Mark Victor Hansen. At Christmas time, Barb had a party and he was in town and I got to go pick him up and bring him to the party in the town where we lived outside of Seattle, Issaquah. He drove my car and I just remember him talking about "Passive Income" all the way home. He is just one of the sweetest men, and such a joy to be around. This is a wonderful post and I am off in the bedroom reading your stuff when I should probably be in the dining room helping my husband entertain his guest that are visiting from Hungary. They own four Otthon Centrum real estate offices. It is the largest real estate company in Hungary and we have been doing training's there for the past several years and now they are visiting us here in California. But since I don't speak Hungarian, and it is so late at night (past 11:00 PM) it doesn't feel too rude for me to sneak away and delight myself in your world. Yipee. There are so many things that are holding me back but I just can't let them go. Just like you I have met people who were drug dealers blah blah blah, but inside they are serious on of the most intellectual people that I have met. He knows how to manage his stuff and knows many ways to do things. I know that if he took another direction he would probably be a very successful businessman. I also am not trying to put all my eggs in one basket, I go to school, I work in a business, and I have family and friends who can hook me up with all kinds of different jobs. I guess I am very lucky and I hope that we all get one chance in our lives to have a super opportunity. But how do we know if this it the right choice? I guess just follow you gut like Corinne says. This was a great read and have got me to think about my future quite a lot. I hope you are successful on anything else you do in your life, you really deserve it.
