Dear Leonard -

I appreciate your time in going over this article. Of course, you are right. A one page resume is not a fit all. And your point that firms keep their details under wrap is also true.

If you will reread this article, you will see that I have taken your suggestions seriously and made some changes.

It is nice to have a real pro like you as an editor! Please come back and keep me in line again!

Warmly,

Corinne Edwards

On your point #2, it may be nice to have a snapshot resume of one page, but it is fairly useless for anybody with deep experience to summarize it all. And #8, research the company, but many firms keep details of their operation under tight wraps.

Thanks, Linda for all your help on this article and also congratulations on your new gig! Wow! We all want some of that luck.

The idea of keying your resume to the job is excellent. Also, the cover letter, of course.

I love the bio idea. That would be ideal for me if I were looking for a job because I have done so many things it would take pages.

But, I am not sure corporate America is ready for the bio. They are stuck in park.

I have revised the resume itself for each job I have ever sought. Very important. Without being a liar, it’s all about emphasis. Every job has a dozen or more aspects, which you highlight in the resume can be key.

I’m not so hip to corporate America, but in the world I inhabit, people want the details. That said, after a certain, point, I’m getting the felling that you no longer do a resume, but a bio. Upon that (yes, just one-page) I just got my last gig – 10 grand a month on top of my other job. And I taught at a law school recently based on that bio and the professor was more or less AMAZED at the bio – as she told her class. So, maybe I take it back, less can be more. I’m not sure how best to balance all this.
