HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHELLE!

MICHELLE VANDEPAS WILL BE 50 on DECEMBER 22!

And she is admitting it!

(You don’t look it)

When I started blogging, I never dreamed I would meet new best friends.

Michelle is at the top of the list.

We only have met in person once but we are in communication on Skype almost every day.

Her blog is called Divine Purpose Unleashed

She and her blog are worth getting to know.  It is all about finding your purpose on this planet and following it so that you find fulfillment in your life.

She is the real deal.

And to prove it, I thought I would publish the interview I did with her several months ago.  I hijacked her show on Blog Talk Radio and became the guest interviewer of the real moderator of the show.

She did not know one question in advance.  That is the way I always have done interviews and I like it that way.

You get the real person if they don’t know what you are going to ask.

Fortunately, she has her subject down pat and nothing that I threw at her fazed her for one second.

Questions like -

“What do you mean by Divine”

“Are you connected to a religion?”

And, the biggie -

“Can an atheist have a divine purpose?”

Michelle is a popular blogger, author, seminar leader, counselor and the host of several shows a week on Blog Talk Radio.    Whew!

In addition, she is a super techie, wife, mother – and always has a new project going!

So here is the interview. Enjoy!

Michelle, Happy Birthday. I just turned 57 myself on December 11. My experience so far is that each decade has been better than the decade before it. Each decade has come with it own set of challenges and joys. It is true that wisdom comes with age. Thank you for the wisdom that you share so freely with your readers.

Dear Michelle -

Of course you are family!

“The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life.
Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof.”

Dear friends of Michelle -

She usually answers all of her comments but unfortunatley she fell the day after her birthday and broke her wrist in two places.

So sorry. Bummer for the holidays. She will be off line until about February 1.

But -

she read every comment and loved hearing from you!

Send healing thoughts!

hi Corinne and all friends- thank you so much for all the great birthday well wishes. Its true I did fall on my wrist and break my wrist in two places -so today I’m using voice recognition software to write this comment -the stories going around on twitter that I won a fight with some bikers in a bar in the seedy part of town.
That’s a much better story but glad it’s not true. I had a great birthday good Christmas great new year 2009 is going to be the best Happy new year everyone

Hi Michelle,

I was a bit shock and it broke my heart when I learned about it.

I feel relief to see your comment here, finally.

Get well soon.

I may be late for your birthday but I wish you a wonderfully fruitful and compassionate New Year. I consider your words on the divine qualities of compassion very close to my own heart’s aspirations. As you so rightly say, it’s not so much the words or the “normally accepted” meaning of the words that is important.

I would venture also that it is more an acceptance of and openness towards others as they are. That takes compassion to the unconditional level where we are free of expectations. We may still quietly proffer our own preferred values and inner wishes of well-being to individuals as they can be seen as a part of all we communally experience.
