ENDLESS LOVE – A poem of forgiveness

by Corinne on March 4, 2008

The pain is gone.

The giant tear I clutched,

uncried,

has leaked away.

Only the love is real.

It shimmers in my mind

like a golden sun at dawn.

Our arguments, the jealousies,

imagined treasons, bitter words,

have all dissolved

and only tender memories remain -

of gentle mornings,

football games,

meals prepared and cleared away -

the tuneless songs you hum

and prayers we prayed.

No accidently joining ours!

A collision caused in time!

A karmic roller-coaster ride!

with hairpin turns

and high sky dives!

But now at last

peace has arrived.

Explosions gone.

The walls thrown up in grief

have tumbled down.

And now -

no longer blind

my heart can find

the quiet,

endless love

you are

inside.

Wow – Are you lucky you had all that — “good” and “bad” – You apparently had it all. I’m still waiting for the love of my life and have just lately been inviting him in. As Wayne Dyer says -
“He’s on the way” … Such a beautiful and prolific writer you are. Keep them coming.

Dear Grace, June and Michelle -

This poem is from my book, Reflections from A Woman Alone. As you can tell, it is true experience from my life.

Yes, I have forgiven him. But it was a wild and interesting ride. I would not have missed it.

Ten years down the line and I still don’t feel like this. Mostly I don’t think about the past, I have moved on and I don’t seek revenge; but if my former partner were to come before me in a firing squad – I would pull the trigger.
