Corinne,

I know I'm behind on reading posts. Congratulations on blogging for 3 years. I, too, missed anniversary 2 on all my blogs. And you have many more great hits besides these. I'm happy to know I've been around long enough to have read most of them when you first wrote them.

My favorite is Music to Break a Sublease. Nothing beats singing with your friends, by yourself or even on stage. I don't know what life would be like if I couldn't sing. I can so I don't have to wonder. I guess music wouldn't be as important to me as it is and always was (I play piano and clarinet and I was a band geek. I wasn't in choir. We had to learn to sing our parts in band. When you can sing your part you can play it).

I hadn't read (watched) your interview with Dannion Brinkley, and I checked his first book out of the library this afternoon after I finished tutoring for the day. They don't have the second book in our system, but I'll bet I can get it through an inter-library loan. It's smaller than it looked in the pictures and I think it will be a fairly fast read. I may have to read it twice, though. I went to tutoring today with the thought that God sent me to be there instead of him/her. I was able to teach my student about a week's worth of basic geometry in 1.5 hours and he understands it.

I also feel like re-reading the "Conversations with God" trilogy. I own those so I only have to go upstairs and get them.

The next book I buy will be yours, but it has to wait until I can get my roof fixed, and catch up on all the payments I'm behind on. Tutoring is a great job and business, but not when you start on June 1. School lets out here at the end of May. At least a few students want some summer enrichment, but by July, they are all going on vacation with their families. School starts again in early August here. July is a long month when you have almost no income and didn't plan for it. My boss called May 21 to let us know she was closing her tutoring company. Now I qualify for one of those mortgage modifications from HUD. I'm working on the paperwork now. I'm down to just needing to make copies of all the supporting documents and I can turn in my packet.

I feel lucky that I grew up poor. I know how to get by on a lot less than most people. I never really had what I would call a really good income until I went to work in the chemical industry. As my business grows, I can see it will be more lucrative in the long run. I certainly don't have to work as many hours, though the hours I work are very demanding. I plan to raise my rates next year. I think the economy will be a little better. I lowered prices just below market and got a lot of students signed up before school even started.

Congrats on three years of blogging and having a great blog to read!

Sherri

Congrtulations, Corinne, on your THIRD Aniversary! And thank you for reviewing a number of your GREATEST Hits. (Whatdaya mean "not so"!) I especially related to "Letting Go Of The Past" where we get cought up in the "if onlys". I took a wrong turn in my life that I catch myself wallowing over. Then I realize that that"wrong turn" lead to a Right Turn resulting in a journey of great happiness.

And I love your steak metaphor in "Yes You Can Write A Book" Just gotta take that first bite. Right?

I very much look forward to your interesting, thoughtful blogs. Please keep 'em commin'!

Let's see, probably your stories about book-writing, learning how to interview from Larry King and your no-nonsense advice to woman whose marriages are on the rocks.
