This is my third year of blogging. Somehow my second anniversary slipped by without my noticing. Maybe that confirms that I am finally a real blogger.
Started out with three readers. For quite a while. Two relatives and one friend. Glad to report that has increased to thousands. Which should be a consolation to some of you new bloggers out there. It can happen. Just hang in. I would not brag that I am a “pro-blogger” but it is an incredible feeling to know that people actually read what you write.
This is a trip down nostalgia lane. Thought I’d introduce you to some older posts today – for old time’s sake. You probably never knew they existed.
THE BIG IDEA – when to bail out.
This caused a bit of a stir with the Law of Intention crowd. Many say if you don’t get what you want you are just not doing it right.
A short quote from that article.
It could have been a great idea whose time has not come – or an idea that just wouldn’t fly if you put it on a helicopter.

LIFE AFTER DEATH? – INTERVIEW WITH DANNION BRINKLEY
His book, Saved by the Light, was a #1 best seller. Followed by several more.
A quote from that article –
He was the foremost authority on the “Near Death Experience.” An unlikely candidate since he was a hired killer and a mercenary for more than one government agency. Not a person with any spiritual background. Quite the opposite.

LETTING GO OF THE PAST
We can all relate to this topic. It is difficult to let go of the traumas in our life and move on.
And a snippet from that one –
We get caught in the “if onlies,” hanging on to dreams which did not come true, losses – a loved person who has died, an unhappy childhood, a love affair which did not end happily ever after, a youth gone – opportunities which have disappeared.

WHEN YOUR HUSBAND WANTS OUT
This is one of my real “oldies” but continues to get hits every day. Thank God for Google. If it does not apply to you, send it to a friend who can use it. Some good information for women and how to protect themselves financially and emotionally.
And she wrote –
Obviously, the only antidote for this news is suicide. NO. We have no time for that kind of thinking. No one is worth your health or your life. No one. And if you think this will bring him back – you are wrong. He has probably already made up his mind.

INTERVIEW LIKE LARRY KING
OK. You caught me on this one. It is pretty new. But interviews are more important than ever. If you haven’t read it, it could interest you. Yaro and Gideon thought it was important enough to feature an interview with me on the topic for their Become A Blogger super successful course.
A tip from the article -
This is probably the most important point that Larry makes. Your guest is the star of the show. Not you. Do not give your opinion on anything. Do not tell stories about your experiences. Nobody cares.

YES –YOU CAN WRITE A BOOK
This is part one of a three part series. This one will lead you to the others. If you have ever thought of writing a book – and who hasn’t? – you might get a shove to get started here.
A few words from part one –
You have already started if you have an idea. Books are never written overnight. They develop as they go along. You could almost liken it to taking a whole steak and trying to swallow it. You have to cut it piece by piece to eat it. By the time you are finished, you have had dinner.

SALES LIES AND NAKED TRUTHS
Speaking of books – some shameless self promotion here. I have been in sales all my life. We all are. I priced this book under ten bucks so you would buy it because you may need it in this economy and if you get one good idea out of it, it will be worth it..
From the introduction –
Why is this book different?
This ain’t your Daddy’s sales manual. It bears little resemblance to Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich - or at the other extreme, Donald Trump’s book, Think Big and Kick Ass…
This is geared toward you – the salesperson in the action – whether you are brand new, a multi-millionaire or a candidate for the lead in the Death of a Salesman.

MUSIC TO BREAK A SUB-LEASE – REMEMBERING WHEN
This is one of my favorites. If I am in a bad mood, which is about once a week, I go back to this post and listen to the music here. A nostalgic story with old songs that will have you singing along at your computer. You cannot feel bad when you are singing.
A little intro –
Just for a lark, Don Costa decided to bring his whole band into the bar one night and cut a record. It was a very limited edition.
It was called “Music to Break a Sub-Lease – Don Costa’s Freeloaders”
From the cover of the vinyl record:
A happy gathering assembled at Jerry’s place. He had amassed 150 meatballs complete with the necessary amount of spaghetti and beverages to wash them down……. Several false starts were made as none of the revelers could read music …… and Don saw the need for haste as the beverages were taking their toll and he was afraid the thuds made by falling bodies would come out on the soundtrack.

Thanks to all of you for hanging in with me for these years and following my blogging journey down memory lane. You are dear friends who I never would have known otherwise.
Keep coming back. I’ll stick with you. We need each other.

Yep, guess I am now one of the old timers now. Most of these articles were WAY before I had to pleasure to meet you.
Curious. What appealed to you out of the collection? You are my test reader!
Let’s see, probably your stories about book-writing, learning how to interview from Larry King and your no-nonsense advice to woman whose marriages are on the rocks.

Congrtulations, Corinne, on your THIRD Aniversary! And thank you for reviewing a number of your GREATEST Hits. (Whatdaya mean “not so”!) I especially related to “Letting Go Of The Past” where we get cought up in the “if onlys”. I took a wrong turn in my life that I catch myself wallowing over. Then I realize that that”wrong turn” lead to a Right Turn resulting in a journey of great happiness.
And I love your steak metaphor in “Yes You Can Write A Book” Just gotta take that first bite. Right?
I very much look forward to your interesting, thoughtful blogs. Please keep ‘em commin’!
Congratulations on your anniversary! Keep up the good work!
Deer Reed -
Great having you aboard! Please stay – and keep us abreast on the progress of your book.
You were one of out original commentators so this post is for you especially.
Hi Joe –
Planning to keep it up. Most fun I have ever had. Especially, with all the new friends I have made.
Congratulations Corinne!!!!!! Love your blog.. Favorite – Letting go of the past. Looking foward to seeing you on the 15th.
Love,
Patsy
Corinne,
I know I’m behind on reading posts. Congratulations on blogging for 3 years. I, too, missed anniversary 2 on all my blogs. And you have many more great hits besides these. I’m happy to know I’ve been around long enough to have read most of them when you first wrote them.
My favorite is Music to Break a Sublease. Nothing beats singing with your friends, by yourself or even on stage. I don’t know what life would be like if I couldn’t sing. I can so I don’t have to wonder. I guess music wouldn’t be as important to me as it is and always was (I play piano and clarinet and I was a band geek. I wasn’t in choir. We had to learn to sing our parts in band. When you can sing your part you can play it).
I hadn’t read (watched) your interview with Dannion Brinkley, and I checked his first book out of the library this afternoon after I finished tutoring for the day. They don’t have the second book in our system, but I’ll bet I can get it through an inter-library loan. It’s smaller than it looked in the pictures and I think it will be a fairly fast read. I may have to read it twice, though. I went to tutoring today with the thought that God sent me to be there instead of him/her. I was able to teach my student about a week’s worth of basic geometry in 1.5 hours and he understands it.
I also feel like re-reading the “Conversations with God” trilogy. I own those so I only have to go upstairs and get them.
The next book I buy will be yours, but it has to wait until I can get my roof fixed, and catch up on all the payments I’m behind on. Tutoring is a great job and business, but not when you start on June 1. School lets out here at the end of May. At least a few students want some summer enrichment, but by July, they are all going on vacation with their families. School starts again in early August here. July is a long month when you have almost no income and didn’t plan for it. My boss called May 21 to let us know she was closing her tutoring company. Now I qualify for one of those mortgage modifications from HUD. I’m working on the paperwork now. I’m down to just needing to make copies of all the supporting documents and I can turn in my packet.
I feel lucky that I grew up poor. I know how to get by on a lot less than most people. I never really had what I would call a really good income until I went to work in the chemical industry. As my business grows, I can see it will be more lucrative in the long run. I certainly don’t have to work as many hours, though the hours I work are very demanding. I plan to raise my rates next year. I think the economy will be a little better. I lowered prices just below market and got a lot of students signed up before school even started.
Congrats on three years of blogging and having a great blog to read!
Sherri
