CONSCIOUSNESS CIRCUIT – The way it was back then -

by Corinne on July 30, 2008

My cousin Gail has a heavy schedule.

Monday she goes for Rebirthing,

Tuesday to her Chinese holistic doctor,

(I gave her my corn pot to boil the herbs)

Wednesday for Bodywork,

Thursday to Overeaters Anonymous,

Friday for Marielle Healing,

Saturday, she’s busiest of all -

smudging at the Earth Wisdom meeting,

followed by her T’ai Chi lesson,

ending with a Hypnotherapy session.

In between -

she practices Out Of Body Experiences,

does Crystal meditations,

(her crystal is charged with finding a lover and curing her Candida)

Neuro-Linguistic programming,

channels her Spirit Guide,

and is focused on Unconditional Love.

She has quit her job because it interferes with her Abundance.

Every Sunday morning she calls to tell me how miserable she is.

Her friends all Live In The Present and she can’t get a straight answer from anyone.

Don’t suggest -

Past life regression, Graphology, Palmistry, TM, Tarot, Numerology, Firewalking, Kaballah,

I CHING, Reiki, Sweat Lodges, Bioenergetics, Aromatic therapy

- that phone psychic in Texas who has access to the Akashic records,

The Forum, or God forbid Astrology.

(She has a Saturn return and won’t discuss it!)

She’s done all that.

I guess it’s better than just hanging around

waiting for things to get better.

Addendum:

Gail is now a recovering woo-woo person, although she enjoyed every minute of her journey. She is a well known Intuitive Life Coach and Astrologer. She wrote a column for a Chicago newpaper on Astrology and is one of the funniest women I know.

But, she gave me permission to publish this poem here which appeared in my book, Reflections from a Woman Alone.

This listing is not too much of an exaggeration for many of us!

Oh what fun Corinne.

I’m exhausted just hearing about all those things I used to do! Exhaustion eventually led to surrender.

Each day is still a ‘be here now’ experience.

Peace has replaced the frenetic pace of ’seeking’ and everything I learned in those early years is what I teach and live today.

It has been great traveling the path with you.

Warm blessings,

your ‘original’ Gail

Hi Gail -
Yes, it has been a wild ride – and never a dull moment with you!

Not to mention, lots of fun and learning.

Thanks for letting me use your past adventures to liven up my blog.

I am proud of my cousin, Gail. And you are definitely an “original!”

Whatta gal!

It’s still that way now – but I look at these people as seekers and they are trying to find out what works for them. Sure, I did similar stuff, now for 28 years but have settled down to the path of simplicity, BUT it took me all those years and all those books and all those people and all those disciplines to understand that it’s all about love and self-love first. Period. I had to go through all my “stuff” and so do they.

Well, we have to keep busy don’t we??? Life is never dull when you are searching. Glad I don’t do as much as I used to.

Hey lol, spiritual feelings takes us to new heights, people are away from the happening world, maybe a false world where we are wandering about to find out the truth, which we are easily able to find in the spiritual world, there are lot of efforts though, to reach at that level, but you know, practicing will definetely take it to near perfection

Cheers to spiritual world !

Dear Violet Lily Rose -

Is it really still that way?

I don’t see much woo woo around anymore. The books are not selling. Only stuff on success.

Mainly, I run into people with “The Secret” tucked under their arms humming “When you wish upon a star!”

Dear Patricia -

Yes, we do have to keep busy! Not quite as busy as Gail was in her heyday – but I must admit, everything she was into had something good in it.

She is now quite a prominent Astrologer which is handy for me because she keeps me up to date when Mercury goes retrograde. That’s when I am most likely to lose my car keys or leave my checkbook at the supermarket. So, I am more careful!

Dear A.S. Pardesi -

It is always a thrill to get a comment from so far away – like yours from India!

I always wonder how you found me. Please tell me.

You are so right when you say -

“Spiritual feelings takes us to new heights, people are away from the happening world, maybe a false world where we are wandering about to find out the truth.”

I am having a little fun with the poem about Gail but believe me, I agree.

We are spiritual beings having a physical experience.

Dear Michelle -

I’m uncertain what the term woo woo means. I assume it refers to the plethora of paths to self knowledge.
In line with that, I once invented a new religion around the Great Cosmic Beetle. Mostly he is invisible because he is so horrendously ‘different’ that the sight of him would scare us to death. The thing about Him (shall I call him Him?) is that while he is all seeing, he is not all comprehending. This results in our prayers often landing us with stuff we really shouldn’t have, with all the consequences.
All hail the Cosmic Beetle!

My dear friend Chris -

How come I am not surprised you would invent your own religion?

About the term “woo-woo.”

Yes, that is what it is fondly called – the whole thing from the 90’s – the consciousness movement.

I hope you won’t be offended if I do not become one of your religious followers. Although I have always been a fan of your countrymen, The Beatles!

Does not sound like you are affiliated.

Larry Dossey, a doctor who writes about prayer in a scientific way has a book called “Be careful what you pray for!”

Interesting because he also addresses “Toxic Prayer” and it’s results.

Dear Stephen -

Your buddy Tom Stine also offers a written transcript of that interview.

I think you would enjoy it! Ask him for it.

Miserable? I personally think that Gail has an interesting and exciting life. I just love it!

Dear Raymond -

Yes, I have to agree that Gail had a lot of fun with all those activities.

It was interesting to ask her, “What’s new in your life?”

You never knew what she was into next.

But she learned a lot that she still uses in her Spiritual Life Coaching and Astrology career.

Too bad you are so far away. You would enjoy meeting her.

Dear Raymond -

Gail WAS unpredictable!

No more. You can take her to bank now.

She is still a lot of fun but steady as a rock in her mission to help others heal.
