I agree with you that you were probably his angel too. The universe brought the two of you together at exactly the right moment because both of you were in need of something and each of you were able to provide it.

The universe is like that. It’s so incredible, I continue to be in awe of it every single time it happens. That’s why I eternally optimistic (I have my bad days, mind you! But overall I’m a happy, optimistic person because I choose to believe the world is full of good people).

I figure everyone cannot afford to be a Good Samaritan. Interesting that he only asked $20.00 and that was exactly what I had in my pocket. I had not bothered, as I said, to bring my purse with my wallet or my cell phone.

It was worth a lot more, believe me.

Michelle made a wonderful point. Maybe he really needed that money. This area which borders my beautiful street on the lake is quite poor.

In which case, I was thrilled to be his “angel!”

You’re right - angels are EVERYWHERE. Thank God you accepted this man’s offer of help although I think it would be have been a little more “Good Samaritan” behavior if he had not asked you to pay him anything.

But hey, maybe that was a test of your faith to see how you would handle the fact that he wanted a few bucks. Most people would have immediately been suspicious and have thought he was trying to take advantage of you.
